Kentucky State Police Announce New Rapid DNA Testing for Sexual Assault Investigations

Kentucky State Police has announced that Kentucky is the first state to utilize rapid DNA testing for sexual assault investigations. Kentucky State Police Forensics Laboratories has piloted use of the ANDE Rapid DNA system to test samples from sexual assault evidence kits, identifying suspects within hours. KSP Commissioner Richard Sanders said they are confident this new system will improve their ability to reduce sexual violence in the Commonwealth.
