Congressman Hal Rogers joined Governor Matt Bevin on a tour of regional airports across southern and eastern Kentucky on Monday, May 6, 2019 to announce a new partnership between Eastern Kentucky University and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System to promote EKU’s new Kentucky Appalachia Aviation Maintenance Technician Training Project. We spoke with Governor Bevin at the Big Sandy Regional Airport in Debord who was optimistic on the program for the future of eastern Kentuckians. Dr. Sherry Zylka, president of Big Sandy Community and Technical College, spoke on the quality of education to keep job seekers in the community.
