The Martin City Police made an arrest while on routine patrol Monday, May 13, 2019. Around 9:33pm, Patrolman Brad Stidham observed a red Honda 650 motorcycle with no license plate on the bike traveling near Pagent Hills Apartments. Upon activation of emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, the motorcycle took off at a high rate of speed. The chase ended on Muddy Branch Road on KY RT 1210, where the driver, identified as 18-year-old Joshua Carver, was arrested. He was charged with speeding, fleeing police, carrying a concealed weapon, DUI and possession of methamphetamine. Carver was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
