Drug bust in Southern Floyd County

A joint effort between local law enforcement and deputies uncovered a trove of drugs. Officers of the Wheelwright Police and Floyd County deputies stopped 27 year old James Michael Nicholas of Texas and 24 year old Marilee Ann Johnson of Kentucky and found what they believed to be cocaine and heroine. Johnson tried to flee from officers on foot but was apprehended, and informed officers that she had two syringes hidden in her vagina. Officers took her to a hospital were the syringes were removed and then both suspects were transported to the Floyd county jail. Both face two counts of first degree trafficking, while Johnson faces charges of fleeing, giving false information, public intoxication and tampering with physical evidence.
