Sheriff John Hunt of Floyd County took to social media to assure his constituents that his office is keeping an eye on animal abuse. With overnight lows dropping to near zero, his office has been swamped with calls about animals being left out in the cold. In the statement his office assures the public that deputies are making interventions when necessary, and asks owners to ensure that their furry friends are kept safe and comfortable. He encourages owners to reach out for assistance if they do not have the means to care for their animals.
