Pikeville Police Department arrested two women after they found a toddler covered in bruises.

“I received a call about a woman who had been struck in the face,” recalled Pikeville Police Officer Tommy Fouts.

Officer Fouts said Jerry Maynard apparently hit 25-year-old Kylene Anderson. The child was in the mother’s arms when she was assaulted. 

The mother Anderson and the child were taken to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment.

Betty Maynard and Kylene Anderson were taken to the Pike County Detention Center.

The children in the household were taken from the home.

Police have not been able to make contact with Jerry Maynard.
