Officials from Kentucky State Police said a body was found in Perry County on Sunday.

Someone found the remains close to 1:40 p.m.

“I saw a bunch of cars right next to my house and whatever happens happened right across the road from me,” said Sammy Smith who lives across from where the bones were found.

The remains were found off Chimney Rock Road in the Wabaco area of Perry County.

“It just seems impossible that something can happen like that around here,” added Smith.

The cause of death is currently unknown and officials say they took the remains to Frankfort for an autopsy.
