Kentucky State Police received a call from Harlan ARH Hospital stating a 16-year-old boy was brought to the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Detectives are investigating the shooting and the victim was stabilized and transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. 

KSP said this was an isolated incident and no one in the community is in danger.

No arrests have been made yet.
