A Pike County firefigher is in critical condition after being hit by a car while cleaning up storm damage.

It happened Sunday night in the Marrowbone community.

Marrowbone Volunteer Fire Department Chief Clinard Adkins said in a Facebook post that firefighter Jimmy Belcher was clearing a tree out of the road when he was hit.

Belcher was taken to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment.
