Secretary of State Michael Adams issued the new regulations for how to get legal documents notarized, on Monday.

Under normal circumstances, notaries have to be in-person but with social distancing guidelines, that’s hard to do.

Now, notarization can be done via video-conferencing, email, photo messaging or other technology.

The Secretary of State’s office says this regulation will be permanent and remain available going forward.
