Gary Wayne Tackett passed away on Saturday. He was a member of the Southeast Volunteer Fire Department in Floyd County. Tackett had been with the department for 35 years, serving as its chief and assistant chief. Tackett was honored during a service at the Nelson Frazier Funeral home in Martin, and laid to rest in the Weeksbury Community Cemetery.
