The Johnson County Fiscal Court held a special meeting on June 29 to approve the deed and closing statement of a property purchased in Hager Hill to be developed and marketed as an industrial site.
Johnson County Judge-Executive Mark McKenzie released a statement on the acquisition of the property, stating, “Johnson County Fiscal Court is excited to announce the use of Local Government Economic Development Program (LGEDP) funds to purchase a 15.1-acre property located near Ben Tire at Hager Hill to be developed and marketed as an industrial site,” he said. “The fiscal court has thoroughly vetted the property over the past few months and has determined that the site is appropriate for light industrial use.”
The next steps, McKenzie said, will include completing the Build Ready Kentucky Certification, which will allow the property to be marketed by the Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet, as well as the construction of a building pad and creation of a virtual spec building.
McKenzie then encouraged the public to attend or tune in to the July 13 Johnson County Fiscal Court meeting at 4:45 p.m. for a full presentation on the property and how it will be marketed to attract good jobs for the community.
