An Eastern Kentucky lawmaker accused of driving under the influence will face a jury later this year.
State Representative Derek Lewis previously pleaded not guilty in the case.
A citation from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department says a deputy found Lewis outside his truck after it went into a ditch on Hatcher Road on the early morning of April 16th.
The deputy stated it was obvious he was under the influence of alcohol.
Deputies said Lewis was drunk, argued with them and he also refused a blood test.
Lewis was uncontested in the primary race but faces a Democratic challenger this November.
His jury trial is set for Sept. 23.
