The Wolfe County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed that one man died in a fatal car crash.

The fatal crash occurred around 10:20 a.m. Thursday on Highway 715 near Big Andy Rd.

Detours for the Mountain Parkway in Wolfe County have been an area of concern after some crashes.

The detour has been set up since last weekend and the highway department says they are halfway through the repair.

You may remember a crash on the westbound detour last month that caused concern.

H.B. Elkins with the Kentucky Department of Transportation says there is no such thing as an unsafe road, drivers just need to use more caution.

Edkins says the eastbound lanes of the Mountain Park will be open by the end of next week with work on the westbound lane expected to be completed at the end of this month.
