On Sunday, Dec. 27th, at least 1,509 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in KY. 1,215 of those cases have been lab confirmed and 294 are probable.

A lab confirmed 138 of those cases and 42 probable were from Kentuckians who are 18 or younger.

This bring’s Kentucky’s total case number to 257,063, with 207,578 of those cases being lab confirmed and 49,485 are probable.

Twenty-one new deaths were reported on Sunday. This makes a total of 2,555 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 164 of those are probable and only 2,397 are lab confirmed.

49% of those who have lost the battle against COVID-19 have been in the 80+ age group. Though the age group with the most cases at 18.4% are Kentuckians who are 20-29 years old.

A total of 3,373,492 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 3,113,655 were PCR Test, 101,339 were serology test, and 9 158,498 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 8.06%.

Currently 13,067 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms.
