
As of Sunday, January 24th, the state of Kentucky reported 2,018 new cases of COVID-19. This makes a total of 346,586 reported cases of COVID-19 in the commonwealth. 273,686 of those cases have been officially lab confirmed whereas the remaining 72,900 cases are probable.
35 new deaths were reported Sunday. This makes a total of 3,421 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 276 of those are probable and only 3,145 have been officially lab confirmed.
A total of 3,902,918 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 3,503,064 were PCR Test, 105,575 were serology test, and 294,279 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 10.24%.
Currently 1,540 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 371 in the ICU and 218 on a ventilator.
On a positive note, at least 41,660 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus. The Governor’s office also reports that as of January 22nd, that at least 345,800 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received in Kentucky and 223,867 doses have been administered, statewide. Of the 120,900 doses recieved by the LTCF Program, 43,710 have been administered to long-term care facility residents and staff.
