Floyd County Health Department Continues to Warn of COVID Surge

As of Thursday, the Floyd County Health Department reported 6 new positive covid19 cases in the county. 4 people are currently hospitalized and 37 cases are still active. Cases in the county continue to surge and the Floyd County Health Department reminds residents to continue wearing a mask and social distancing. The Health Department posted the following update to their Facebook page, “Please do your part to stop an increase in cases:
Get vaccinated to lower your risks and to lessen the chance of spreading the virus to others; wear your mask when you are out’; social distance at events, work, and when around others not part of your household. Any person not fully vaccinated at least 14 days within the last 3 months and asymptomatic will have to quarantine. Be prepared to quarantine if you have been around a positive case and have not met the above criteria.
With today’s numbers our last 7 day average moves us from yellow to orange with an incidence rate of 11.6.”
