Kentucky’s former Juvenile Justice Commissioner has made an appeal after being fired last month for harassing and abusing employees.
In the appeal, LaShana Harris claims to have been subject to racism by co-workers leaving bananas at her desk and using images of monkeys in make up on Zoom conferences that were allegedly meant to resemble Harris.
Harris was appointed to Juvenile Justice Commissioner in 2019 by Governor Andy Beshear once he took office.
Harris faced multiple complaints of harassment, intimidation and excessive anger that lead some employees to seek medical attention.
