Herbert Thornbury 83, passed away at his home on Tuesday May 4, 2021. He was born October 24, 1937 to the late John (Zetta Thacker) Thornbury in Pinsonfork,KY. He was the oldest of nine children.

He was a graduate of Belfry High School and Eastern Kentucky University. Herb was a jack of all trades. If it was broke, he could fix it. He retired as a coal miner, but also worked as an assembly line worker, auto mechanics teacher, truck driver, gas station owner. He was an honored member of the Masonic lodge for 58 years and served as a Shriner. Anyone who knew Herb, knows he would give you the shirt off his back. But most importantly, he was a dedicated husband, loving father and an amazing, doting PawPaw.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm Friday, May 7, 2021 at R.E Rogers Funeral home with David Allen Thacker and Robbie Worrix officiating. Burial will follow at Thornbury cemetery Canada, KY. With sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6-9pm Wednesday and Thursday night at the funeral home. Masonic services will be Wednesday at 7. R. E.
