Bessie Oreitha Akers was ushered into the presence of God by angels May 22 at home at 7:41 PM after a long illness. Mrs. Akers was born November 12, 1942 in Patrick, KY to the late Oscar and Ethel Fitch Runyon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack McKinnon, Jim McKinnon, and Willard Runyon; and two sisters Geneva Meade and Ruth Rowe.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 at 2pm at Belles Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Willie Gene Hayes and Bro. Brian Crum officiating. Burial will follow in the Akers Cemetery at Ulysses, KY. Friends may visit the family on Monday, May 24th from 5-9pm at Belles Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
