Kathy Johnson Bates, age 65 of Melvin, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Hazard ARH, Hazard, Kentucky. She was born April 16, 1956 in McDowell, Kentucky to Joyce Newsome Johnson of Melvin, Kentucky and the late Charles Johnson.

Visitation will begin Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 6pm at the church and will continue all day Friday, May 28, 2021

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 12 noon at Wheelwright Methodist Church, Wheelwright, Kentucky with Bobby Isaac officiating

Burial will follow Johnson Cemetery, Weeksbury, Kentucky
