Betty Ward Gartin, age 86, of Paintsville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 in Lexington, Kentucky.

Betty was born January 12, 1935 in Johnson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Benjamin Ward and Lou Ellen Reed Ward. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Prater and Lorinza Ward and two sisters, Marie Kestner and Anna Tackett.

Betty was a retired teacher from the Johnson County School System.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel with Larry Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Jones-Preston Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021 and 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021.
