A man out of Floyd County is now in jail following a high-speed chase in Garrett.

This past Monday, June 28th, at approximately 5:00pm, Floyd County Constable Gary Nelson says he received a complaint regarding a reckless driver while patrolling in the Garrett Community.

The Constable later located the vehicle in the middle of the roadway. Upon activating his emergency lights and sirens, the vehicle began to flee. Officers chased the car through West Garrett Road and continued onto KY RT 80, towards Knott County. The chase came to an end when the driver of the car crashed into a guardrail near the Floyd County line.

Afterwards, the driver allegedly fled on foot before being tazed.

52-year-old David Hall, of Chaffins Branch Road, was arrested on several outstanding warrants and traffic violations, including operating on a suspended driver’s license and fleeing or evading police. After being tazed, Hall was transported to Martin ARH Hospital, where he was medically cleared before being lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
