A man out of Magoffin County is now in jail on an assault charge, after he allegedly shot another person in the face.

 

41-year-old Michael Paul Perkins, of Salyersville, was arrested this past Sunday.

 

Police say he was arguing with another man, Bobby Stephens, when Perkins allegedly shot Stephens.

 

Stephens was transported to Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville, then flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

 

Perkins is charged with first-degree assault- a Class B felony, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He is currently being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
