No charges have yet been filed after a shooting that took place in Breathitt County this past Sunday.

 

Troopers with the Kentucky State Police responded to reports of the shooting at a residence at Lost Creek just before 9pm Sunday night.

 

37-year-old Matthew White was discovered with a gunshot wound. He was transported to UK Hospital and his injuries are NOT considered to be life-threatening.

 

Officers then identified 41-year-old James Henry White as the shooter.

 

James White informed officers that he spotted a group of people attempting to break into a home. It was then that he grabbed his gun and fired several shots at the group, hitting Matthew White.

 

The case will be presented to a grand jury upon completion of the investigation.
