County Clerk is ordered to probation

 

Former Lee County Circuit Clerk Emma Adams, plead guilty in February to abuse of public trust. Attorney  General Andy Beshear stated Monday that she is ordered to serve 5 years on probation, and 180 days of home incarceration. She is also ordered to pay a fine for what she stole from her office: $333,000 since she has avoided jail time, in addition to more than the 200,000 she was ordered to pay in restitution. Her attorney has asked the fine be lowered, as he says she’s paid 156,000, and is scheduled to pay off the remaining 79,000.
