James York Smith, Jr. of Caney Creek Road, Pikeville, KY passed from this life unexpectedly on Thursday, August 12, 2021, following a brief illness at Pikeville Medical Center. He was 73.
Services will be held at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY including visitation for family at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 15th, and friends from 4:00-9:00pm, with a special service at 6:00pm. Funeral will be on Monday, August 16th at 12:00pm., with Pastor Danny Mikles and Pastor Fred Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers or other sentiments of sympathy, the family requests that donations be made in York’s memory to the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #29 P.O. Box 951 Pikeville, KY 41502. Burial will take place at Bent Ridge Cemetery in Meta, KY. A convoy of his fellow truckers is being arranged to participate in his last ride. R.E.
