Man Arrested After Planting Loaded Firearm Inside Of Business

Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Miller along with Deputy Brian France and Deputy Charlie Johnson arrested Charles Hendrix, age 45, of Somerset, on Sunday afternoon September 5, 2021 at approximately 1:15 PM. The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off West Laurel Rd., approximately 6 miles west of London while deputies were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint there.

Deputies observed a blue colored Suzuki motorcycle with no license plates on it drive into the parking lot there and the driver exited and entered the business before deputies could make contact with him. When the driver exited the business deputies conducted an investigation determining that this subject was wanted on an outstanding warrant. In addition, deputies also determined that this individual had apparently intentionally left a loaded firearm hidden in a bag inside the business. Deputies learned this individual was a convicted felon.

Charles Hendrix was charged with no registration plates; operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license; wanton endangerment – second-degree; possession of firearm by a convicted felon.
