A civil lawsuit has been filed against Harlan ARH

According to an article from WYMT, in a lawsuit filed by the U.S Attorney’s office, Dr. Donald F. Ramsey, who worked in the emergency room at the Harlan ARH Hospital, is accused of not doing conventional examinations before prescribing a drug to help people lose weight. Ramsey is also accused of writing these prescriptions to hospital employees, as well as their family members. The lawsuit says these prescriptions were being filled at the hospital pharmacy, at least 83 times. ARH is also alleged to have failed to retain accurate records of controlled substances at Hazard and Middlesboro pharmacies. The United States is seeking civil penalties. An ARH spokesperson to WYMT denies being served, and said comment could not be given on the lawsuit.
