A man out of Logan County was sentenced this past Thursday after he was convicted receiving child pornography.

40-year-old Marvin Wayne Akers had previously admitted to communicating with a person in the Philippines back in 2016. He asked that person to send him both pictures and a video which he knew to contain child porn.

Akers will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.
