Officials with the Hazard Police Department are warning the public of scam calls within their area. According to police, a man has been contacting people from an Ashland number. Posing as an officer with the Hazard Police Department.

The caller will claim there is an arrest warrant for the person who answered the call, adding that they needed to pay a fine.
