An update from the City of Prestonsburg Police Department:
This week, the Prestonsburg Police were called to an escaped inmate at Highlands ARH. A male subject, identified as Jesse Karr of Elizabethtown, Kentucky was in the custody of the Floyd County Jail, seeking medical treatment at ARH. Following a period of time that required Karr’s restraints to be removed, he fled from his room and the hospital. The Deputy Jailer attempted to pursue him but was unsuccessful. Karr was originally in custody for trafficking illegal drugs and escape charges.
At no time was there an imminent risk to public safety and we have been working diligently following leads as to his current whereabouts.
Karr is 31-years-old, standing 6 feet, two inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. According to our leads, he was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark, hooded sweatshirt.
If you see him, do not approach him and call 911. He is believed to be in the greater Louisville Metro/Elizabethtown area. Additional warrants for his arrest have been issued. This case remains under investigation by Ptl. D. K. Duncan.
