Inmate’s Attempted Escape Stopped By Officers

An update from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office:

On Wednesday, February 9th, at approximately 8:41 p.m. an inmate being transported by a Magoffin County Deputy Jailer escaped during arrival at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. The subject fled on foot to a wooded area between the Judicial Center and Tractor Supply. Multiple units from Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Paintsville Police Department, Paintsville Fire Department, Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office, Magoffin County Jailer/Deputy Jailers were all on scene. JCSO deputies located the subject and took him into custody.

Mr. Conley was charged with Escape in the 1st Degree,  Assault in the 3rd Degree-Police Officer or Prob. Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Menacing. He was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
