The search for a missing Buchanan County man has come to an abrupt end.

36-year-old Jonathan Kelly, of Whitewood, was reported missing late last month. Family members told police that they feared for his safety, as he had made recent comments about harming himself.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office reported finding Kelly’s body in a wooded area between Compton Mountain Road and Slate Creek. His cause of death is currently being investigated.
