A man out of Whitley County was arrested this past Sunday night after he hit a child with a car.

 

Christopher Mullins was arrested Sunday evening after police say they received a call concerning a man running over a girl in his truck.

 

According to the arrest citation, Mullins’ niece was walking behind his pickup truck when he suddenly hit her, giving her life-threatening injuries. A field-sobriety test was also administered and Mullins was determined to be under the influence of marijuana.

 

He was charged with first-degree assault and is now being held in the Whitley County Detention Center.
