Officials with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office are warning the public of a possible scam that involves local funeral homes. 

Sheriff Robinson says he was contacted by Rominger Funeral Home concerning the scam. Officials say the scam caller is calling families of people who have recently passed away, demanding bank information for payment of funeral expenses.

Rominger Funeral Home Vice President Wes Rominger stated that the funeral home would never contact a family regarding payment over the phone.
