Officials with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department announced an arrest this past Saturday.

Earlier in the week, Kenneth L. Hayden led officers on a chase, but he managed to escape on an old railroad bed. After learning his location, police began surveillance on his home.

On Saturday evening, he was spotted entering the home. Officers and K-9 units quickly surrounded the building while ordering for Hayden to come out.

Hayden is said to have refused those orders, opting instead to barricade himself inside of a closet. Hayden fought with officers once they entered the home.

He was arrested and transported to the Floyd County Detention Center.
