An update from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department:

We have been notified from several of our residents today saying they have received phone calls from an individual claiming to be an employee with the Power Company or other utility company.  

The caller requests for payment to be made immediately or the customer will experience a loss of service..  

These calls have been tracked to an unknown origin but definitely is not a legit utility company. These calls are a scam. You should never give personal or financial information to anyone over the phone unless you are certain as to who you are talking to.
