A man from Elizabethtown was arrested on Thursday morning in Pikeville on a meth trafficking charge.

 

An officer with the Pikeville Police is said to have spotted 25-year-old Lawrence Phillip Jr.’s BMW on Town Mountain Road when he initiated a traffic stop.

 

The officer is said to have noticed the smell of marijuana from within the vehicle. After conducting a search, the officer discovered a large amount of meth in addition to a smaller amount of marijuana. He also found a firearm along with drug trafficking materials.

 

Phillip was placed under arrest and charged with meth trafficking, possession of marijuana, and felon in possession of a firearm.
