A consumer alert was issued on May 18th by the Kentucky Attorney General. Daniel Cameron. The issue warns Kentuckians of scams related to the nation-wide baby formula shortage. Kentuckians can report any suspected scams to ag.ky.gov/scams.

Scammers are posing as legitimate online sellers on social media platforms like Facebook marketplace, and independent platforms like Craigslist. Payment is usually requested through gift cards or an online payment platform, and is often asked for up front.

To report scams, call the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Hotline, at 1-888-432-9257.
