A woman out of Clay County recently pleaded guilty to murder in the death of her newborn.
In December of 2018, state police officials claimed Amber Bowling put her baby boy into a garbage bag before throwing him over a banister. An autopsy revealed the baby suffered from fractured ribs and cranial bleeding.
Bowling’s trial date was set for Monday, but instead, she pleaded guilty that morning.
The recommended sentence in the plea agreement is 40-years in prison. Bowling will be sentenced on June 27th.
