
On Tuesday, a former Clay County sheriff’s deputy pleaded guilty on a charge in Clay County Circuit Court.
The guilty plea comes from an investigation that started in January 2020.
Brandon Edwards, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities.
According to police, this is a Class D felony. Edwards was indicted on the charge in July 2020.
On August 1st, Edwards will be sentenced before Chief Circuit Court Judge Oscar G. House.
The Clay County Sheriff’s office fully cooperated during the course of the investigation, according to troopers.
