Hancel Dixon, age 91, of Leburn, KY, passed away Sunday, June 12. 2022 at the Greg & Norene Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, KY.

Hancel was born in Paintsville, KY on October 17, 1930 to Elmer Dixon and Bessie Conley Dixon.
He was the former owner and manager of Knott County Auto Parts, Dixon’s Ashland Services Station and Dixon’s Gulf Services Station. He also worked for many years on gas well drilling rigs.
Hancel loved to fish and was an avid wood worker. He loved his pet, horses and goats. He loved to work in his garden and mowing his grass.

Funeral services for Hancel Dixon will be held 1 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Hindman Funeral Services with JD Reeder officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Memory Gardens at Hindman, KY. Visitation will be held 6 PM – 9 PM Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Wells Hospice Center, 57 Dennis Sandlin Drive, Hazard, KY 41701.
