Police Searching For Jewelry Store Thief

Pikeville Police Officials are currently searching for a man who is believed to have stolen thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry from the Kay Jewelers Store in Pikeville. The incident is said to have taken place on Wednesday.

 

According to police, the man entered the Pikeville Commons shopping center at 3:47 PM while wearing a black face mask, sunglasses, jeans, a Nirvana t-shirt, and a cap with the word “Gram” embezzled into the front.

 

Once inside the store, the man asked to view an engagement set, looking at it briefly before asking the clerk about an item on the other side of the store. The clerk is said to have asked for the engagement set back, but was ignored- the man instead proceeded to walk out of the store, where his car was waiting and running. The entire theft is said to have taken no longer than three minutes.

 

Store employees describe the man as a potential 40-year-old, having brown hair with a substantial amount of gray. He is said to have fled the scene in a late 1990’s – early 2000’s model car.
