A woman out of Indiana, who is accused of shooting a state trooper in Knott County last year, has recently been sentenced to 20-years in prison in a federal firearms case related to that incident.
38-year-old Tiffany Miller, of Auburn, IN, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in federal court.
Miller admitted to stealing a gun and truck out of Knott County in July of 2021, in her plea agreement. According to officials, the incident is said to have resulted in Miller shooting Kentucky State Trooper Bradley Couch in the shoulder as he attempted to arrest her.
Miller pleaded guilty to the gun charges in March of this year. On Friday, she was sentenced to 10-years on each charge, which will run consecutively. She was also ordered to pay a total of $17,000 in restitution.
Miller is still charged with attempted murder of a police officer, wanton endangerment, theft, and other additional charges in Knott Couty Circuit Court. The next court hearing is scheduled for September 2nd.
