
A three-vehicle collision on RT 460 left one person dead and multiple others injured on Wednesday.
At around 5:00 PM, east of RT 617, the driver of a 2017 Chevy Malibu attempted to merge into the eastbound lanes, hitting a 2015 Ford Escape in the process. The Malibu continued on, hitting a 2001 Honda Civic that was traveling east.
All three vehicles came to a stop in those eastbound lanes. A 2016 Ford F-150, who was traveling east, was unable to avoid colliding with the Honda Civic.
33-year-old Heather N. Earls was a passenger who wasn’t wearing her seatbelt. She died at the scene. A 14-year-old boy and 8-year-old boy were both wearing seatbelts and were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
39-year-old Jesie L. Stollings, pf Grundy, was driving the Honda while not wearing her seatbelt. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
52-year-old Timothy C. McGlothlin, of Grundy, was driving the Chevy Malibu and is said to have sustained critical injuries before being transported to the hospital. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The flooding is said to have not been a factor in the crash.
