A man out of Johnson County who is accused of killing his 12-year-old daughter before using the gun on himself, has now been formally charged with murder.

 

47-year-old Stacy Collins, of Van Lear, was arrested on Tuesday.

 

The body of Stacia Collins was found on August 11th at an old strip mine in Van Lear. Stacy was said to have been found a short distance away with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

 

Collins was transported to a hospital for treatment. On Tuesday, he was officially charged with murder and taken into custody.

 

Collins is being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
