The missing pilot and helicopter who went missing over the weekend have been located, however, the pilot, 69-year-old David Stone, did not survive. 

Mammoth Cave Officials received word on Monday that a helicopter crash with a single fatality had been discovered within the park’s southern boundary. The notification was received at around 4:00 PM. 

Stone had been flying alone from St. Louis, MO to Knoxville, TN before contact was lost with his helicopter on Saturday. 

The downed helicopter was found via a search helicopter. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
