Kentucky State Police arrested a man out of Pike County after officials say he was holding a woman and two children hostage.
The incident occurred on September 3. According to an arrest citation written by Trooper Billy Ball, he and Trooper Combs arrived at a home after being called a domestic violence complaint.
When they arrived, witnesses told the troopers 29 year old Aaron L. Coleman of Left Fork, was keeping three people hostage, including two children.
The troopers entered the home and went to the bathroom, where the hostages were held.
Also, according to the citation, Ball announced himself as Kentucky State Police and the woman told Ball to knock the door down.
After several attempts of kicking on the door, while Coleman was pushing on the door from the other side, he asked the woman if Coleman still had a firearm and she said no.
Eventually, the troopers managed to gain entry into the bathroom, and placed Coleman into custody.
The woman told the troopers that Coleman hit her in the face with the barrel of the firearm and threatened to kill a child, according to the citation. The troopers discovered drugs in the bathroom, which the woman claimed the drugs belonged to Coleman.
Coleman was arrested and charged with fourth degree assault, first degree wanton endangerment, first degree unlawful imprisonment, second degree criminal mischief and several drug related offenses.
