A man out of Pikeville was recently arrested on a number of charges following a robbery at a home on Cedar Hills.
The robbery is said to have taken place just after 1:00 AM on Saturday. Police responded to a call reporting that a man had broken into their home when only their 16-year-old autistic son was present.
The man, who police are said to have later identified as 30-year-old Travis Fields, is said to have entered the home and proceeded to tell the son that he was in need of a gun because people were trying to kill him. Fields is said to have then grabbed the purse of the boy’s mother and then pushed the boy when he asked why he was taking the purse.
Fields then proceeded through the house, taking a phone, some jewelry, %50 in cash, and three bottles of Mountain Dew before leaving as the mother is said to have been returning home.
Officials found the man walking nearby, but without any of the stolen items. He was arrested and now faced robbery and other charges.
